Summer in the city: my fashion cover story for Harper’s Bazaar
Harper’s Bazaar doesn’t hand out covers lightly. So I was proud to shoot this one — a summer fashion editorial across Manhattan for the June 2015 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Serbia, featuring model Marina Cooper and styled by the magazine’s fashion director, Gordana Manojlović.
We shot it like a love letter to New York in its strangest season — that sweltering, asphalt-melting stretch when the city empties out and the streets belong to whoever dares to stay behind. The images balance heat and geometry, glamour and grit. Pools, rooftops, underpasses. Bright light, hard shadows. Summer as runway, sidewalk as studio.
This wasn’t a story about escaping the city — it was about claiming it, heels down, eyes forward. Marina moved through it like she’d carved the streets herself. Every frame has her stamp. Twelve pages in total, opening with “NYC” scrawled like a challenge.
No need to flee to Capri — sometimes all you need is a swimsuit, a skyline, and a little sweat.
